I came here by chance researching more information on raising FHM for both stocking my pond and as a hobby. I know I'm crazy for trying but I'm a hardheaded mule and have to learn the hard way.

Welcome to the forum! What you want to do is easy. Just make sure the water quality is good, you have enough O2 for them, correct spawning habitat (females spawn on the underside of things and the male cleans the eggs with the top of his head). Make sure the area that you are raising the FHM in easy to seine to get them out. Or if you aren't looking at transferring double to triple digit poundage figures of the FHM every time you want to put them in the pond, have enough minnow traps or a small modified Fyke Net to trap them with. Make sure the netting is small enough that they don't gill themselves on the netting.

Thanks I think I found the correct thread that I needed and have posted there. Since I keep a fish tank indoors I have 3 different dip nets that would work. Right now my pond is a work in progress as well, being over 50 years old and never maintained I'm currently getting rid of the years of muck that have built up over the years and am also tackling the weeds that have prevented any fishing as your bait would stay on top and I know that its fishless as it flooded out pretty badly 5 years ago and it flushed out all my fish including my largest bass at 15.5 inches and 2.5 lbs when placed in 8 years earlier.
