I'm hand throwing Optimal, don't know the # offhand but about 1/16 dia 3/8 long, The CNBG love it and follow me around the bank like a dog. I'm feeding in 4 different locations and as I drive up you can see the water start rippling in anticipation and then explode when the pellets hit the water. I love it but also wondering if they forage on there own or only relying on me feeding.. I had a huge spawn of BH and don't see the CNBG feeding on these at all. The smaller 2 to 3" CNBG shy away from them and haven't seen the BH fry in an area where the larger CNBG are. What size BG will feed on the 1 1/2 " BH fry? I usually feed once a day and about 1/2 of the larger size coffee container basically 3 or 4 handfuls in each location maybe more if feeding heavily. Can you feed intermittently with success or should I develop a more strategic feeding plan? I would like for a 40 lb bag to last a month is this reasonable? Stocked in late May with 4500 small CNBG with about 300 in the 3 to 4" range which are now pushing 6". Also stocked 40 lbs of FHM that have since disappeared. I have very few LMB so don't think they are responsible for the FHM disappearing.

I won't say BG won't feed on BH, but if they do I'd bet it's when BH are 1/2" size.. 6-8" LMB on the other hand, would be cleaning house and is probably one of the only species to actually hold any control on them.
