Hi all,
I've had mixed results with cutrine plus granular and liquid for chara control. Seems like it just keeps coming back to full bloom or it didn't die at all. Does anyone have a successful tank mix or granular rate to kill chara? What details might I be missing in the treatment? Should I be using Alum/Lime in the Spring to bind nutrients? If so, what rate? I typically add surfactant and a defoamer in my tank along with the cutrine plus liquid and try to shoot the stream down into the base of the growth. I've had a few larger ponds- 20acres or more- have their entire shoreline with chara extended to 15-20 feet from shore and I'm trying to improve service to these clients instead of telling them I can't kill the stuff! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Chara needs to be controlled while it is bright green and actively growing more in mass, not when it's light green in color and just idling along. The only way to deal with it then is to manually rake it out.
