I live in Washington state which is already pretty restricted, chemical wise. I have a 130ft x 45ft pond that has an inflow and outflow.

In the spring and early summer months, the algae goes crazy. I would like to get rid/prevent the algae in the pond so I can use it for RC boats. My problem is that with the outflow, I can't use algae-sides. I'm here for ideas on what I can do to help manage the algae in my pond.

I appreciate your thoughts.

Cover with floating tarp ? Photosynthesis requires light. Neighbor has similar problem with aquatic plant in his springfed pond and that's what he does.

Mechanical removal is about your only option. Take a look at this thread for removing duckweed. Same principle, it should work for your algae.
