At least in my small central Iowa pond, the BG are busy with nesting..

Always a welcome sight! I spent an hour today just watching them in my pond in Wisconsin.

Most years I believe 4 times, but might squeak out a 5th round some seasons.

In Iowa? Wow! Never thought they'd spawn more than maybe twice there. You must be feeding them Love Potion Number Nine!

Based on the number of adult BG and BGxRES NOT showing up to feed the last two nights, I suspect mine are getting ready to spawn too.

Love potion #9! laugh

As with many things I've learned on the forum, if the water is in 'good shape' and the temps are in range, they just keep going. Like most bodies of water, I bet a lot of the spawns occur from May to late June, and then stops during the heat of summer and then starts up again early fall.
