After dredging a large pond with a lot of sediment build up, how long before the silt left in the pond settles back down to the bottom

I guess hear it comes ( it depends) on the make up of the material and chemistry of the water. I can stir mine up pretty good and it creates an algae bloom for a couple of weeks then clears up
