I'm sure this has been answered many times, but is outbreeding depression real? I have an existing pond with northern strain bass. I wanted to add some f1's and hope some survive and propagate their traits. Long story short, is this doing more harm than good, or no?

Why not add pure Florida strain and you will most likely make your own F1's. Yes, it's real, the first generation grows fast, it's called hybrid vigor. Each subsequent generation grows less quickly. It's seen in Hybrid Bluegills too.
