Since in the water the wood does not rot, this wood with has been in the water for more than 1 hundred year has a very great value.

azteca, thanks for sharing this link. I'm particularly interested in this fascinating work, as I spent many years in our logging industry, felling timber here in the western U.S., Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon, and Washington.
Lots of stories have been saved relaying the history of "the old days" to us modern peoples. This "logging archaeological" approach can help to round out our understanding of the past.

I seem to recall that Venice, Italy was built on clusters of log pilings.
