Can a pond siphon pipe be raised ? The 12" pipe with valve, if left open, will drop the water level below the back of my floating dock.
NRCS suggested installing a new gravity drain pipe which they said would move more water. But, I'm thinking that raising the siphon pipe
might be a cheaper solution if possible. And, sufficient dam freeboard won't be an issue.

What about just raising the air break? If you do that the water will stop flowing at a higher level if the air break is raised. Can that be done with your system?

Hopefully you don't have to move the whole pipe, just the air break.

I've tried raising the air break , but it didn't break the siphon. I don't think the air intake can be above the pipe.

You might need a bigger dia air intake. Fireishot has a siphon system in his pond where the air break is on top of the siphon. I'll see if I can get him to post a pic, I think his siphon is running now due to the rain they have had in Texas.

Thanks, I'd like to see the picture. I'm thinking that if the air break pipe is above the top of the pipe, it would also fill with water as the pond level rises,
thus, not breaking the siphon effect.

His air break is on top of the siphon pipe, but not at the highest point in the siphon. I might have misunderstood what you were saying. I will see if I can get pictures from him.
