I'm hoping T-Bar is meaning that he would have liked to harvest this fish while still alive!!!
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

Im still trying to figure out what a Caracara is. do you know what killed the fish?
All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.

Im still trying to figure out what a Caracara is. do you know what killed the fish? You probably will never see one in MO. They are native to the South America but have been spotted as far north as the Southern US.

Im still trying to figure out what a Caracara is. do you know what killed the fish? Caracara are Mexican raptors that have been moving up from Central America. We had a pair visiting the pond the last couple of years. This week I have seen as many as five together so it may be a growing family. The fish are Tilapia native to the tropics/subtopics. I stock them every spring.....they die off when water temps get down into the 50's. I never seem to catch any before they die.

Tbar,
What happens when your bald eagles show up while the Caracara are still at the location?
Does one set of raptors drive off the other set, or do they attempt to "share" your pond?

They will coexist on the pond unless Caracara are on a carcass. Then the Eagles will drive them off.
