Hello.

Are their any members who know Clam fingernails and their larvae.

I should have kept them an put them in culture to see the speed of propagation, the size of the larvae and if they are attracted by the light.

I read that the larvae are part of the Zooplankton and move with cilia and serve as food for the fish larvae.

Hello.

I went to look for clams, there was 2 inches of ice on the swamp.

I was surprised to see so many Daphnia under the ice it was full.

Hello.

In the swamp I see the clam in great quantity, they climb easily on the rocks, on the pot of my culture they climb on the walls.

In the spring I will put a large quantity of it in my pond.

Oh yes, I saw that in Korea they eat them and it is very expensive,( they don't say which species).

Hello.

Well well, the Fingernails clam don't lay eggs, but release young already formed.

I could see these young already too big for the fish larvae, they seem to be released without a shell, but they are very small.

I searched on the net for picture of baby Fingernails I did not find any.

I was able to see them in my culture and take pictures.

Yes the non-native trapdoor snails in my pond also release live young. A few seem to survive to adulthood despite the hungry PS and YP.

A picture on the web:
