Several years ago, we had an osprey of some type swooping in and nabbing fish when the feeder went off. I then set the fish feeder to go off right before and after daylight for a while and it went away. Now, we have had two bald eagles and one larger brown eagle hanging out around our lake for much of the last two years. Brother cutting hay near it noticed them swooping down on the lake occasionally. Duh... Played that buy fish / feed fish to feed the birds game before. We let the fish feeders run out and haven't refilled them this year. Now, only notice one occasionally. What do you all do in areas where there are a lot more of them? Neat to see them; but...

With the lake & rivers so close, we have plenty of bald eagles, along with herons & egrets. Wife said she's seen a large, unknown to her bird at the pond once or twice, but there was nothing but frogs & turtles in there until August.
Hoping they don't take notice of my pond once it's stocked, but I won't hold my breath. I would try to discourage their presence in any manner allowed by law & hope they get the message.

We've had a regular Osprey present for the last 4 years or so.
Our local Bald Eagle concentrates on controlling stray cats.

Just this morning on our local news we heard of someone killing 2 bald eagles and got caught. Probably have a little jail time here in Texas!!!
Dear Alcohol, We had a deal where you would make me funnier, smarter, and a better dancer... I saw the video... We need to talk.

Our local Bald Eagle concentrates on controlling stray cats. Is she available for any contract jobs? (Feral cats only!)

Any Bald Eagle, or any bird for that matter that will eradicate the number of stray cats has my vote,, I'd even buy him a few fish. That being said, I've had a bald Eagle or two hanging around the lake for the last several yrs, I have caught them perched right above the fish feeder and figured that's what they were doing, going after fish while they were feeding. doesn't bother me near as much as some damn cormorants or blue heron. them things I detest.
Actually I had A Baldy fly in and land in a dead tree this evening while I was in my hunting blind. along with 2 dozen wild Turkeys wandering around all afternoon, didn't see very many deer tho, too windy.
All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.
