Wow. I had no idea that it was private.

I’m thinking about the deal but would have to sell some guns

Pat, you can get some guns, and I'll take all his primers.

Dave, it wasn't private. I think TPWD dumped it. Parks and all.

I had a LOT of primers. The word got out and one pro shooter drove from Amarillo to get some from me. I still have enough to shoot the rest of my life. Especially since I rarely shoot anymore.

I have a 100 yard rifle range with a table at 25 yards for pistols and zeroing rifles with new scopes. But, at 79 yoa, it’s getting harder to tell whether it’s the rifles fault or mine.

Last year when I got the $100 Christmas card , I never used it. I forgot about it, and then when I needed to order merchandise, it had already expired.

Yeah, I have some 4350 but can’t attest to its age.

Hmmmm. I've got rifles a lot older than 79 years that shoot just fine.

Ditto, and I have a shotgun that needs some refurbishing. It's around 150 years old. I just reloaded some shotgun shells with some Red Dot. Price on the 1# can was $12.50. I still have 25# bags of shot that I paid $10 and $12 for..... LOL

I also have some older ones. Model 1873 Winchester in 38-40 caliber. Swedish Mauser from WW1 with original ammo, , a couple of WW2 7.7 Japs, and one rifle that is so old that we can’t identify it from the info on the barrel.

I’ll be mostly using my pre 64 Win 30- 30 this year

I love the old guns and probably have about 20 or more that or over 100 years old, with the oldest being made 1861-1862. Most of them I don't shoot but I do shoot some of them and really like shooting something over a 100 years old. I have another handful that are close to 100 years old.

Why don't we Pond Boss fans get together and buy the lake? I'll start by kicking in five bucks. That leaves a mere $110,549,995 to go.

Scott, I started hand loading a LONG time ago. About 50 years ago. Got a used RCBS press, manuals and lots of gear from a newspaper ad. Still have that press but don’t use it.

I still have a couple of cans of HS5 and HS6 from that time. No idea if it’s still good and no way to find out. Why? Because it’s pistol powder and I can no longer hit anything with a handgun. Got old and shaky.

Some of my old manuals list powders that are obsolete.

Probably 7 or 8 different calibers of rifles. Bunch of shotguns and pistols. Rarely shoot anymore but told my wife that there was no way I was going to get rid of any of my guns or shooting paraphernalia.

I keep an old 7.7 Jap rifle in the country. Grandson dug it out last month as shot a dang big hog. I think I probably built that ammo 40 or so years ago.

My goal this year is to get a pig with my Swedish Mauser. Of course, it will be have to be close because, without a scope, all bets are off.

Pat, I had no idea that Colt made a revolver in 38-40.

It was made in 1901 and is nickel plated and was totally engraved from one end to the other. Colts wants 200$ to send who bought it first……had it looked at at a gun show by a colt rep and he was impressed with the engraving

I once saw an ancient set of 38-40 dies and bullet molds on E Bay. I’m still kicking myself for not buying them.
