I’m the new owner of a old pond. As far as I can trace back the pond is at least 60 years old. The previous owner had it about 10 years and I know he had a company come out and put dye in it to keep the weeds down. It also has a water fountain that runs about five hours a day. Using Google Earth I estimate the pond is about 1 acre and has quite a few largemouth bass, all in the 8 to 10 inch range and some bluegill all hand size or smaller. At most the pond is about 4 feet deep with at least 2 to 3 feet of very soft muck/silt on the bottom beneath that My overall goal is to make the pond a fishing pond where I can consistently catch 12 to 14 inch bass and larger bluegill.
I know I’m going to have a lot of question that I will start posting on the appropriate areas. Just wanted to say hi and show a few pictures, once I figure out how to convert them from my iPhone to a format that I can post

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Welcome to our pond mgmt forum. Lots of members here can help with your goals of increasing the average size of LMB from 8"-10" to 12"-14" and keep the size structure of the bluegill similar sized.

I do the work here on a desktop and use IMGUR to host pictures, then post the links here. I think some people use Tap talk to post pictures from their phone to another forum, don't know if it works here.
