Ok I am in Texas - temps hitting over 100 every day.

my timer for feeding the pond is set at day break and sunset - even then there are not many fish hitting the feed- normal??

I have seen this at my pond in previous years too.

This year the fish have done a 180. Water surface boils and the feed is gone in record time. Don't know what to attribute it to.

Feed what they eat in about 10 minutes

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Hi Tim,

What do you mean by not many fish hitting the feed normal? Are you saying that they are not eating well or that they are eating more than usual?

Do you know how much per acre per day you are feeding and what your water temp is?

Do you aerate?

How clear is your water? Are you having a good bloom?

I'm like Dave, feed what they will consume in 10 min. Doesn't matter if it's 50 fish or 500, the fish will tell you.
In the mid to upper 80's WT, most start to slow down on feeding anyway, not uncommon.

Guess my question was centered around this - been feeding all summer and the fish attack the feed - last few weeks when the feeder triggers they hit the feed but way slower and seems like a lot fewer eating it - it has to be the heat

Yes, the heat or possibly side affects of heat (eg lower Oxygen solubility). It's dang hot here in Texas. Crazy hot today.

Same here in the greater Oklahoma City area. Possibly setting all time record high at the airport.
