We have a pair of geese that returned this year. They are beautiful swimming around our pond. This year they have six eggs. Last weekend I set up a game-cam to watch their nest.

So last night the game-cam captured a neat moment.

It looks like Mother Goose was sitting on the nest of eggs at 3AM and she suddenly heard a bird of prey come flying in close. I assume Mother Goose thought the bird was coming after her eggs, but it appears the bird of prey was coming in to to grab a small animal. You can see the eyes of the small animal the bird is after.

Thanks FishinRod. Gosh I don't know. Those eyes look a bit odd. Maybe an Opossum? I wish it were otter eyes!

I was worried it was possibly a small cat.

Looking again, it could be a rabbit that has just flattened his ears.

Of course, it could be a critter spinning away from danger and the camera captured an odd, altered pic.

I have had some head-scratchers on my cameras. I do like it when a later pic resolves the mystery. (My wife is not a big fan of "mystery" pics, because she prefers that we do not have any chupacabras at the farm!)
