I am in Texas - this is on the edges of my pond. Is this some type of algae or is it just stuff the blew into my pond off of trees or plants? Thanks

timK do you have any closer clear pictures of it. How close can your camera focus and get a clear sharp picture of 1 or 2 individuals?

I think it might be a marginal plant that grows on land or in the water. Does it have a stem that attaches it to the bottom of the pond?

There is no stem - just a small, round and floating I will try to get a closer picture

Not uncommon to see that in small NE TX ponds. Whatever it is, it seems seasonal or temp related.

Some trees drop dead flower parts that can look similar to that. In that case, you'd be finding it outside the pond as well. Cheers, -Hirsch
