Wacked another couple of hogs in recent days. Interesting in both hunts it was just a pair of boars at the feeder rather than the usual heard/sounder/mob. 6.8SPC, IR Hunter Mark III 60mm. ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/qRHw8DR/066-A349-A-2832-4-F13-A6-F7-4-B90-DB528-FC1.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/P9phDBk/3-F60664-F-9-DDA-4-C61-8-D0-F-A1-A0-D1-E1-E512.jpg)

We have killed 36 hogs in the last month. Plenty more to get. Keeping me busy making reloads for the AR 10 308

Good job, you Texans and Floridians!
If you keep killing enough, maybe you can keep them out of Kansas.
P.S. Do you guys eat any of the ones you cull? I have heard mixed reports on the hogs as victuals.

T using 165grn hornady SST with 43 grns imr 4064 I think . So far so good not many get away ….. had one run about 150 yards, thought I missed but a week later my nose found it, it was moving so I guess I hit it farther back, try to head or neck shoot them. I don’t have a thermal so have to rely on moon or gun mounted hog lite

If they smell bad on the ground they go to the coyotes. I would love to give them away but it’s hard to get anybody to get them unless you clean them. I’m very picky how I care for the game so if it’s cleaned and quartered up it’s staying here…. Makes good BBQ and hamburger to mix with deer meat

Think about it. We can do this just about any day. I’m butt deep in hogs.
Someday, most everybody will have hogs.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Around here some people take more deer than they need or can eat also. Some take them to a (homeless) shelter. Theres is another place here that takes them and does all the work for single moms. Believe me I know you guys are head deep in them. The can and will be a problem for sure. I have some family that is against hunting ( until someone they know dies from hitting them on the highway). This is the only social media I am involved in but have heard of people posting on FB bout having extra meat if someone is willing to do the processing. Just my thoughts just would be nice for it not to go to waste when its still good meat. I do understand the frustration with them for sure. They play hell on crops they provide a living for people.

Rusto, There is even a charitable organization in Kansas to donate your deer harvest to the hungry. (The hunters just need to field dress the deer and then take it to a participating processor.) It is easy for residents to get a tag for the antlerless season that starts on January 1st. If a significant number of people culled a doe, then the highways would be safer next year, and a lot of low-income people would have some excellent protein added to their diets! Link below goes to Kansas Hunters for the Hungry. http://www.kshfh.org/

As many hogs that are around you would think the gov would figure out a way to get it out to the public rather than charging the Hunter to give it away

Here in Indiana we have a Hunter Feeding the Hungry program. Take the deer to the processor and drop it off. Yes it goes against your tag, but the hunter does not pay any processing fee - the program pays the deer processor.

Last month someone hit a pair of them down the road about 2 miles. Bumper and car parts all over the road. Someone had a very bad day/night.

I dont think Ive ever seen as many deer hit on the roads as I am seeing this year, slowing down a little now but some roads you cant travel a mile without seeing at least 1 or sometimes several that have been hit. somewhere the body shops are doing a good business.
All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.

We went on a quick road trip last week and saw more animals dead on the side of the road than usual. Several had car parts scattered about. I don't think there were any winners on those encounters. Time to go hunting responsibly and thin the herd.

SSA's 110gr Accubond works a treat on whitetail. Also have some of their 95gr TTSX bought for hog & maybe bear, but no opportunity to use it yet.

Crazy Carl, helping answer your question by reposting an answer from above that was buried in another post:

Carl, we use anything bigger than a 22. I prefer a neck shot. They seem to drop a little quicker .

Then a wilder boar got in with her and bout three weeks later she died for some reason….miss ole pig-pig she was cool and would follow you like a dog
