What is the best way to remove this from the pond? My neighbor recommended taking a bare box spring and use the metal frame to drag the vegetation from the pond?

1. How to remove it now?

2. is there a better way to manage this so it does not come back next year?

Thanks,

Craig

I don't know what's legal there in N.Y.

Triploid Grass Carp eat it.

DIquat will kill it

Fluridone @ 45 PPB will kill it

You can use a "Weed Razor" to cut it below the surface, then rake out the leaves and stems.

I do have them we are allowed 3 of our pond. They hardly touch the amount that we have in the pond.

I would spray it with diquat. But, I would only spray about 20 to 25% at a time. Dieing vegetation robs O2 from the water. The fish need someplace to go to for oxygen. Wait about 10 days(guesstimate) between applications.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
