Hey guys been years..
Got a question kinda stumping me..
1. I started feeding again after taking last couple years off. It's been 2 weeks and still not a single fish hitting the feed.. before I had them in days..

I have 2 Texas hunters. One goes off in morning one in evening both in same area and not easily movable.. Mainly feeding bluegill and can catch BG within 20 yards of feeder. My dock is in the area and a bunch of man made structure just no gills hitting the food.. Im feeding Purina game fish, I know not the best but figured I'd get them back in the area and feeding before I spend the money on Aquamax.

Thanks guys any help appreciated and any of the old dogs still around.. no idea when last time I posted was lol

I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease..

BGK, welcome back. It has been several years. If you click on your forum handle, then click on "Forum Posts", you'll see a listing of all your contributions and the dates.

You used to have good things to add to threads, so jump right back in. We could use some more of your witty comments.

My BG absolutely refuse to eat fish food; they only want dried mealworms. My GSF, YP, and tiger trout all scarf Optimal BG. The BG spit out any pellets they try. Spoiled Brats.

Do your BG show some curiosity when you're at the pond's edge? If so, you might simply try hand tossing small amounts of feed. Maybe the few that try the Purina will encourage others. Once enough interest was generated, the fish might move to auto feeder pellets. And, two weeks may not be long enough to get fish well fed on natural foods to show any preference for pellets. Do the BG you catch and clean seem fat, as if they are eating plenty and have acceptable relative weights?

I don't suppose that your water is already too warm for active feeding? Not likely this early in the season.

Dang killer,it has been awhile. I think I would buy some new bluegills. They will be feed trained and, in my experience, the “old” fish emulate the new ones. Ive successfully done that.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Yeah Dave I thought about that aswell.. Just wierd they always took to pellets before without even being fed for 20+ years.. I did make some calls and no one really has much for fish for sale until late fall.. Is Rex still selling fish anyone know? Condello still raising them hog gills. I got a few hundred of them years ago from Rex.
