Decided to lime my 1.75 acre pond this winter.
Plan on adding about 2 tons. So far added 1400 lbs of pelletized dolamite lime and already seeing a much improved bloom. Clarity is normally about 3-4' - over last several days has stayed at about 2'.

Update: Had a lot of FA this spring and water visibility stayed around 3' +/-.
I fertilized once the water got in 60s and rather then get a bloom the FA grew a lot. Ended up using a 25lb bag of perfect pond over three weeks.
Once the water warmed up to around 70 a few weeks ago a bloom started and it seems to have killed the FA which is feeding the bloom. For last couple weeks sechi disk readings have been between 12"-15". Luckily the weather has stayed in high 60s/low 70s while the bloom has been going on.
Haven't had any luck fishing while the bloom has been going on - so far no fish kills. I'm hoping the bloom will lessen once all the FA and other underwater vegetation blocked from light decomposes and no longer feeds it.
