Anyone think these are muskrat holes? I live Chester county Pa. and have heard of mink around the French Creek area of the county and that is not very far from me. Thanks for taking a look.
Those holes look like they are from collapsing muskrat tunnels. Once the tunnel becomes breached like that the muskrats seem to move out and start fresh. Too easy for predators to access the den/nesting area tunnel without having to go under water. To a mink, it doesn't matter, but to all the other predators that don't dive and can't fit through the underwater den entrance hole, it does.
