Anyone think these are muskrat holes? I live Chester county Pa. and have heard of mink around the French Creek area of the county and that is not very far from me. Thanks for taking a look.

All my muskrat holes are from under the water into the bank. (under those stones). Easy to see the disturbance from where they come and go.

They look like muskrat holes to me - but I have never seen a mink hole.

Do you have access to a game camera? That is probably the least effort on your part to find the culprit(s).

Muskrat. Time to break out the Conibear 110's.

I take back my previous comment about a game camera.

Theo's solution allows you to identify AND eliminate the problem at the same time!

I have tried a cheap game camera. Also have tried humane traps. All i seen was a heron and nothing in the trap.

Those holes look like they are from collapsing muskrat tunnels. Once the tunnel becomes breached like that the muskrats seem to move out and start fresh. Too easy for predators to access the den/nesting area tunnel without having to go under water. To a mink, it doesn't matter, but to all the other predators that don't dive and can't fit through the underwater den entrance hole, it does.
