Howdy Azteca,

It is possible I think. Various types of trout have long been transported in the eyed eggs stage though I cannot recall this happening by mail. I think YP eggs would hatch well if transported by mail if the temperature ranges experienced were acceptable and the oxygen remained sufficient during shipment. I think the oxygen requirement could be met by ensuring the ratio of water to egg weight is similar to what one would transport fish. I think the warmer the water and the faster the development of eggs ... the more mortality there will be of eggs but YP spawn in fairly cool water. Something in the container that would prevent the ribbons from massing together (thus limiting oxygen to the embryos) would probably help. I don't know the legal ramifications of this kind of transport but I do think it would not be lawful to transport them by post across a national boundary or possibly across provincial boundaries in Canada. Here in the states one would need to understand home state and destination state rules and regulations pertaining to transport but it could be successfully done I think.
