Remarkably few so far this year, very unlike the previous 3 or 4 winter/springs. Am I the only one seeing this? Are their numbers down this year, or is it just that they haven't migrated south en masse yet?
What are my fellow pondmeisters seeing? I'm glad, of course, but a bit puzzled.

FWIW, up here we are just getting the bigger bodies of water ice covered. Within the past few weeks. Moving water, i.e. rivers are still open.
