Getting ready to dig next summer. My property is about as flat as a pancake, and nearly solid woods. The pond is going in an area that is right on the edge of the woods. I have some spots where the water accumulates in the spring, fall, and any heavy rain events. I'm concerned in a summer like this, I could lose up to 3' of water from evaporation.

I'm considering running tile into my low spots that accumulate water during rain events to pull that excess into my pond from below ground. My question is, if that tile is down 2' from the soil surface, is that enough to get clean water, or would I be pulling dissolved nutrients into my pond?
