As a new addition to this forum please overlook my splashing around. My name is Doug and I live near Rock Hill, SC. I have recently acquired a 1.2 acre 40 year old pond that is on the back of my property, it's average depth is 6 feet. It is mostly fed by runoff water although there could be an up stream spring as a small amount of water is always draining from the over flow piping.
In an effort to clear up the pond I installed an AirPro aerator kit and started it up on 3/27/20. The pond is now slowing clearing up.
My desire is to have a productive fishing pond and wildlife attractant. I have been feeding the fish that are in the pond and am seeing good and active response from the resident fish.
I do have a questions regarding the cycle time for the aerator system. It is on a timer and operates currently on at 6 am and off at 3 am. It cycles seven days a week.
I hope that the forum might reply with any and all information that might educated me with the best practices for pond management.
Best Regards Doug
