Hello, I’ve been stalking this forum ever since I purchased the property I live on last year. I have an 8 acre pond in southern Illinois.
When I bought the pond you could not catch anything but juvenile catfish. The pond was overrun with channel (not bullheads) catfish. Ranging from 4 inches to 4lbs. Most were 10-12 inch fish. I have removed over 5,000 fish by hook and line to date. Last year after removing 3,000 catfish. I stocked 2,000 gills 3-5 inch. And 100 bass. This year I have taken out 2,000 (and counting) catfish and have stocked a 1,000 more gills and 120 bass. Pond is definitely more balanced and bluegills are doing fine. I feed AquaMax 300 to gills.
I have been using this website for advice for a while so figured it’s time to make an account.

I try to take at least 20 catfish out everyday. Usually not too difficult haha. I don’t mind fishing being added to my chore list.
