I have adjacent creeks and ponds that I have been putting minnow traps in and I have caught some BG, Minnows, baby Carp, and Waterdogs. I assume the Waterdogs are in my pond too, haven't caught or seen any in there. But I've been throwing the ones I catch in the pond. I've only thrown a couple of dozen in there this weekend. Is this a bad thing? Or will my LM eat them and enjoy the little treats? Thanks!

I think they won't last long. LMB snacks.

LMB will clean house on them. The problem is when waterdog eggs hatch in a forage pond.. They are extremely aggressive predators.

No harm in waterdogs. They make terrific live bait, especially when bass are on the nests.
The best giant bass lake I ever fished, Lake Jackson in Tallahassee, Florida, had abundant waterdogs/watersirens.

No problem and I agree that they won't last long
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Awesome! I tried to use one for bait but he kept holding onto the hook trying to get it out of his bottom lip...I guess I need to hook him in the back so he swims...LOL. Thanks everyone!!!
