Just a theory here but in my opinion I wouldn't be putting anything back for a while, and probably the last of those would be bullheads, they do make super Flathead and Blue bait,, stay alive forever on a bank pole.
All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.

There are also a ton of yellow bullheads in there. We probably catch those more than the CC. Should we leave them be or start removing them? I know some flathead fishermen around here would love some. Well if this BOW flows directly into water where Flatheads already are, why don't you talk with Fish & Game about whether they could green light you to move some to the BOW. They are easy to determine sex. If you just added males, they wouldn't reproduce but this is better IMO. You need help with harvest on the runts and they would do it. Best if only maybe 10 to 30 lbs per acre in BOW. You just want enough predation to allow the remaining fish good growth. A big predator will be working everyday where you can only spend time as available to cull the runts. I do think FH will survive better in a small BOW and I am certain they will be a better predator than blues.
