put 10 young grass carp in my 1.5 acre pond back before winter - had one rain that went over my spillway but not real heavy - I have had worse.

I am not seeing any of my carp in my pond when I walk around the shoreline. What are the odds the carp went out over the spillway and I need to buy more?

I've heard somewhere that carp do like to go downstream when the water rises. I think that's what I heard, anyway. Is it possible the water is still to cool where you are to pull them up to the shallows?

It may still be too cool - the BG are taking my feed pretty good now and I am seeing bass on the shoreline - I will give it another week or so - just nervous the carp are all downstream

Tim, we've got 100 that we ladder stocked, including the 20 more we got last week. I've seen no GC feeding either. We usually start seeing ours when the water warms up a bit, and the plants start growing.

Carps migrating characteristics, hum? I've got a few biggies in my pond. I also had some rainbow. I had a big flood as my ponds are both adjacent to a serious river that occasionally floods my BOWs. The trout all seemed to migrate, seems like 100% especially since it was in cold weather. The carp, however, stayed put. I see them when the Texas Hunter feeder goes off. Since they are generally bottom dwellers it's possible they are still in there. Hand throw some food and see what you see. I'd wait until the water warms to get a better feel since most fish are in a pseudo-hibernation mode in the cold, especially below 55 degrees. Much of this would never be certain.
