Pond builder has built our pond n 9 others. According to the App it’s gunna hold up to 2 acres surface acres. It has a emergency Spillway built in. BUT we want something that’s basically guaranteed to not fail, as me n my bro are contractors on the road A lot. We can’t be there all the time even tho it’s rt behind the house. My wife can’t monitor it as she is school teacher with a 5 year old n freshman in college. I need to know if the auto syphon system will work.! 40-50 acre run off going into this pond. Don’t wanna screw this build up. Prob is it’s filling now. 4’ water at dam now, should be 16-18’ when it’s filled to max.. When it’s dry enough emergency spillway will be concrete. Photos coming.. when I figure this out to attach .!

Brent, with 40 to 50 acre watershed in Arkansas you'll need a very good emergency spillway for a 1 1/2 to 2 acre pond, as it will likely get lots of use. Wide and gradual slope is best. Concrete is great though expensive, if too much so be sure to get good grass started ASAP.

Iphone issue uploading photos. But dam n spillway has already been seeded last week before all the rain hit. Wish I could figure how to get photos up. Because my question is should a syphon system drain into bottom half of the spillway? If we kept it close to the emergency spillway entrance, say 25’-30’away, that way we could utilize the bottom half of spillway below dam to save on washouts. Like I said prolly gunna be this spring now but it will all be concrete. Thanks for any input, sorry for no pics

Well syphon is in..can’t do pics on iPhone. we will see how she works when it’s filled. Now curiosity. If your going to put the air diffuser system in.. do you put them in now when there’s only 2-3’ of water in bottom.. or wait til pond completely fills..? We still kinda lost on how to properly do this. . I’m assuming do as much as possible before pond Gets full.. N thank you guys for any input
