Your pictures look good but are tiny on the screen so you probably see the full effect on a good quality large monitor. I agree, how great to see what the pond looks like even before you dig it! I can't wait to see progress. When do you start? Be sure to keep us posted on the progress. Love to see other folks from MI building ponds and sharing their successes or troubles. With all the heavy rain we had recently my pond is mostly overflowing into the adjacent woods. The frost is still in the ground so it isn't going down quickly. We also have very rapid thawing of ice due to all the rain and the wind yesterday. We may set a record for early ice out here. 2013 was record flooding in downtown GR with this one article getting a lot of hits. A office building right on the grand river flooded above the office windows and this picture of a pike swimming by the office window caught a lot of reposts. office window / aquarium This year we are about a foot shy of that 2013 record, still lots of flooding. I hope you aren't this wet at your place! Last year the first YP ribbons were more than a month from now but this year they may come early.

CC, that's an awesome story and really unbelievable picture. I live just outside Cedar Rapids, IA where we had terrible flooding several years ago. Water was getting into the second story of some downtown buildings. I had heard several stories of fish and crawdads finding their way into some offices. Floods are scary and always do whatever they want.

Cedar Rapids is very much like Grand Rapids in the way the river goes through the middle of the town. I never knew that they built the windows on the buildings that face the river out of aquarium grade glass but I'm sure they are glad that they did! Someone who worked there said water did find its way in some of the rooms at a slow rate of a trickle but it was very nerve wracking to work in one of those rooms and know the pressure of the water on the glass just outside!!

Canyoncreek-
Probably won't start digging until next year at the earliest, there's several projects higher on the list at the moment. Thanks.

Bryan, Is that area fed by a stream? Or is it just temporary standing water? I ask because I have a stream fed pond and will be interested to follow your construction.

Sorry, it's not a stream fed pond. Thanks.
