I stocked my 1 acre pond with 80 8-10” brown trout about 3 months ago. I know they are alive because I have seen them splashing and swimming recently. I tried for 2 hours this afternoon and 2 this evening to try and cacth them to check up on them. I was using a live work and did get a couple nibbles. My rig was just a small trout hook and a split shot. What am I doing wrong? Where is the best place to fish? What time, what bait?
Thanks
Adam

Try a small in-line spinner like a 1/16 oz. rooster tail, or a small wobbling spoon like a 1/16 oz. Cleo.
Cast to an area, reel in as soon as it hits the water. Next cast to the same area, count one second before starting retrieve, next cast count to 2 before starting the retrieve, etc. Continue to do that until your line goes limp (lure hits bottom) before starting the retrieve.
Cast to an area 20' away and repeat the sequence.
I would try that starting at daybreak or 45 min before dark until dark.
