I caught several nice crappie the other day and most had eggs that looked to be deteriorating. Do we have a spawning issue among our fish?

What would prevent them from laying their eggs?

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Al - It is usually weather conditions and or water temperatures. Since the crappie already exist in the lake, it should not be due to lack of spawning substrates and obviously ther are males present so it is not due to lack of partners.
