Living in one of Texas' most populous counties, I know several landowners who frequently encounter issues with trespassers - especially trespassers who like to fish. This subject has probably been discuss on this forum before, but maybe some newcomers might offer some novel suggestions. In the meantime, I recently ran across a very creative tactic for dealing with trespassers - and I challenge anyone to devise a more amusing and elaborate method. How Rednecks Deal With Trespassers

Kelly - Now that there is funny and very creative. Too bad all pondowners can't do that to their trespassers.

I really thought they were going to come back with striped jump suits and carry them on to the county jail for trespassing!!

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

If you catch trespassers red handed on your property just make them lay their wallets on the ground and then leave - you then have their drivers license and info to give to the game wardens - very safe, non confrontational way to bust them

I'm not convinced that making a trespasser(s) leave their wallet on the ground and walk away, would be non-confrontational.
"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"
If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

Here in WV, the DNR game wardens were re-designated a few years ago as State Troopers. We have the state police (State Troopers). We have the local sheriff's department -- and they really know a lot of the local low-IQ problem makers.
Tonight was not a good night here for me. I got a visit before dark, and then I got and several phone calls over about 45 minutes.
Anybody who followed the FX TV "Justified" series can get a pretty good idea of the connections ranging between the "so called" good guys and bad guys, in this part of the country. It is a very fine line.
In my years of living here, I've found that a bright light, a camera (especially from a cell phone), and a cell phone calling 911 can be pretty effective.
A problem without a good solution, is that it takes multiple escalations of criminal activity by these people before they may possibly be put away for a long time. Although, around here, many of them end up dead in their late-teens to mid-40s, before long term incarceration over a number of issues, like shootings, bludgeoning, overdoses, DUI car accidents, and so much more.
Many are fearless because of drugs. They aren't worth confronting. I still sometimes go out armed, but ...

I'm using this wireless motion-detection device, with transmitters placed strategically around my residence - and it works great, especially with the receiver powered by a timer that automatically disables the receiver at times when I'm normally tooling around outside. Based on the transmitter's claimed range (1/2 mile), it might be ideal for covertly detecting trespasser if the owner's pond is within range of his residence.

If you catch trespassers red handed on your property just make them lay their wallets on the ground and then leave - you then have their drivers license and info to give to the game wardens - very safe, non confrontational way to bust them Reminds me of a story my drunkard ex-bil told me about, when he and a newly acquired 'beer joint buddy' were walking along while hunting in a National forest. They came upon a fence with a “No Trespassing” sign on it, ignored the sign, crossed the fence, and proceeded to follow a fire break clearing. A while later as they were approaching an elevated box stand this ballsy old man jumped down from the stand with a deer rifle and ordered them to drop their guns. After dropping their guns he told them to empty their pockets and step back. The old man unloaded their guns, put the ammo in his pocket, and then took their drivers license from their wallets, and put those in his pocket as well. Afterwards, he told them to get off his land, and then turned and walked away. When they were about 100 yards from the old man, my bil's buddy said, “Hey, I still have a couple of rounds in my shirt pocket and I'm a pretty good shot, I think I can take him from here.” My bil said that he just laughed nervously, because he wasn't exactly sure if his new friend was just kidding........... or not. They were both contacted by the authorities shortly thereafter.
