I stocked my 5 acre lake last year with bream and bass. This year I added Hybrid strippers and talipia. I feed about 200 pounds a month total from 3 feeders. This weekend we fished it with the grandkids and caught a bunch of bream around a pound each and just butterball fat. They caught a few bass around 14" that we not as fat as I would have hope.
They also caught a bunch of green sun fish that came from somewhere on their own.
I had planned this month to add Shad but now Im worried that these green sun fish will wipe them out before they get a chance to get started. I hate to spend $1,200.00 and just feed fish that I really dont want in my pond to begin with.
I hope as the HSB and F1s get bigger they will clean the green fish out

Do you have pics ?
Not sure you need both TShad and tilapia at this point. GSF should not wipe out shad but LMB and HSB may.

More than likely the GSF came with the stocked bluegills. I don't see the problem. They only spawn annually and can't keep up with BG and their rolling spawns. Being more fusiform than other sunfish, they are a preferred forage for bass and HSB.
I have a small forage pond that has both GSF and BG and no predators. When I seine to add forage to the bigger pond, I don't hesitate to toss the GSF into it. I very rarely catch one.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
