I cringe a little bit subconsciously every time somebody asks about crappie. I have seen crappie work well (also hybrid crappie) in small productive ponds Hey now....I love my Overton's hybrid crappie in my pond. In fact this past weekend there were a few smiles from kids catching such a pretty fish.   
Fishing has never been about the fish....
