Storms moving in here now. The forecast say could be heavy rain. The pond is up 4 to 5 feet since Nov. 1. Only about a foot to go before it overflows the bank. May happen tonight.
Al, very blessed no one was injured. From what I'm gathering lots of trees down along with power. It may not have been on the ground long because the neighbors reported very minor damages. These are quite big property's so neighbors are half mile away in different directions.
My pond came up 4" with this rain and is overflowing, the crazy thing is that it still 70% covered with ice. We are very close to having our wettest December on record.
First time in almost 40 years I remember going through our whole deer season with no snow. Stopped at my property earlier today. Threw a few pellets for the brookies. They're gorgeous, still sporting some spawning color. Surface temp was 46 degrees. Almost always frozen over by this time. We'll take it!

Would those that say "it can't be done" please refrain from interrupting those that are doing it...

Good news is most of the rain missed us. Bad news is the wind is 35 with gusts to 50+ now. Heading to my sister's house next week to clear the downed trees so she doesn't have to hire it done.
The backup generator is getting a work out tonight. Power keeps going off for a few minutes then back on. The generator kicks in after 20 seconds of no power then kicks off after power is restored.
Our Missouri property was reported to me to have been struck by a tornado. So far they are calling F-2/F-3. No one injured. Took our steel covered ports and put them on the house. Along with bending the concrete basketball goals flat against the ground. Ponds seem to be ok. Found two dog houses floating out there in one. We don't have dog houses btw. Could of been worse.
Oh carp. I'm glad that you weren't there, and that there were no injuries. The house can be fixed.

Bill, send me a PM on where she is. Indy is a few hours South of me, I can always throw the saws in the car and head South if you need a hand.
Glad to hear that no one was injured at Snakebite's place.
We woke up to snow on the ground yesterday morning, but just enough to cover some of the grass. I was outside much of today in a short sleeved shirt. They are expecting we'll break a record high for Christmas Eve.

14" to 32" bars on the saws.
Thanks for that very generous offer! I'll have my laptop and send you an SOS if I'm in over my head.
Wind was whipping pretty good overnight. Went out back this morning and a lot of branches down, mostly pine. We only lost power for a few minutes, but went to town and that's mostly still out since about 1:00am.
Still much better than being dumped on with snow. And, the sun is out now!

Sis called me tonight to tell me the job is done. A couple out of work local guys came by this morning and asked if they could have the job. They said they were trying to get some Christmas money and would finish it today. She said they did a good job so that's cool and helped out a couple of families in need.
The tree down in the pic I posted was an ornamental pear. She said she saved me the firewood (she converted her fireplace to gas) from it and the big maple. Anybody know if the pear will be good firewood? Any good to smoke with?
