I just finished construction on my first dam it has a drain pipe going trough the bottom, it does have a seep collar installed. I noticed a small trickle of water coming up close to the pipe, I guessing it is coming out of the pond and not a spring somewhere, can this be fixed?

Welcome to the forum halerd!

It can certainly be fixed, but how, is hard to say without at least seeing some pictures and knowing quite a bit more about your particular dam and construction methods.

It is hard to compact well under a pipe and seeps are pretty common after construction. Could the water possibly be coming from a bad joint, or the valve used to keep it closed? Was a sheepsfoot roller used to compact, or just letting equipment tracks do it? What size drain pipe? Smooth PVC, or corrugated?

Thanks for the response, the pipe is a 4" pvc I'm thinking the joint where sealed, you stuff is pretty hard to mess up but the leak is definitely in the area of the drain pipe . No, I did not use a sheeps foot to pack it but I did make a seep collar. I'm tempted to not worry about it, just don't know if it is going to get worse or stay the same.
