well the pond is a little less than a half acre stocked fatheads and coppenose over a year ago then the bass made a year old mardis gras day.

they just don't seem to be growing. they are around six inches with only one that i've seen over ten. we haven't caught that many.

the coppernose seem to be doing fine.

just thought that i had put too many and needed to get some out or have them eaten by a larger bass

You are always going to have a challenge managing a bass/bream pond which is less than 1/2 acre. I'm not the pro but I think 25 bass would have been plenty. Of course, this also depends on how many bream were stocked. My suggestions 1) feed the bream a high quality feed 2) take out 25 to 40 bass and see if the growth increases, if not take out some more. Only other idea I have is to start over and have a catfish pond. Good luck!

Most publications don't recommend stocking bass in 1/2 ponds. In MS. they recommend 50 bass per acre. You stocked 100 in a half acre. Now I have seen Bob recommend up to 100 per acre. So by my account you put in 2x the amount of Bob's maximum recommendation, and 4x the amount of std. recommendations. Yea, you could say you overstocked. Start yanking some of them puppies out. Overcrowed condition of bass leads to slow growth. (Not enough food.).
