I need a source for powdered gypsum in the Fort Worth area. I am going to use it to help remove suspended clay particles in my pond. I used to find this at Lowes and HD but now the only stuff they carry is pelletized.
Thanks,
Richard Ng

Richard, contact US Gypsum. I did it once but have lost my info.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Will pelletized not work? At the conference, I thought Greg G. or maybe Todd(of course it could have been anyone) said the pelletized version was ok.

I've heard that adding sheets of drywall to "muddy" ponds really clears the water up. Drywall is made up of several layers of gypsum board that are composed of gypsum rock. It sounds a little strange, but have heard of excellent results from this. It could be an option for you.

Mike,
Pelletized will work fine, and there are no undesirable products in it. The only minor down side is, it takes a day or 2 to fully dissolve.
It's interesting that you don't really have to spread it evenly in your pond. Once dissolved, it diffuses rapidly.
