I helped a friend of mine put channel cats in a very small pond.It has been a few years and the channel cats are producing young.This pond is under a 1/4 acre,very shallow and no running water entering it.The pond is choked full of cattails.Idid not think they would breed in these conditions.Guess I was wrong....Joe

Without bass, if the CC can find a place to spawn they'll often be successful.

All that is in this small pond are the Channel cats,a grass carp,creek chub minnows and a lot of large snapping turtles....

The addition of some LMB would likely end the successful reproduction of the CC via heavy predation on their vulnerable young of year.

Bullheads (BH) can spawn without cavities. Just FYI in case some slipped in somehow.

That's what I thought ,but they were a few inches long and these guys say they are Channels...

Rounded tail or forked tail? Blueish silvery color with maybe a few spots on the sides or brownish or a mottled color?
