I know My koi have stirred the pond from the original clear water. It still had some clearity though. It seems that as the tilapia have gotten larger and been breeding I have even more unclear water.
Has any one experienced tilpia frequent breeding/nesting stir up and muddy the water?

Bobby, if you have a soft bottom, and several (60+) male T well over 2 pounds per acre, they can stir up a lot of ground keeping their nests ready!
The larger the male tilapia get, the wider area they will defend, which also draws in cuckholders trying to sneak in a quick nest while the big guy is busy elsewhere.

You might be surprised, Bobby! With the growth and reproduction rates, there are a lot of tilapia fast in a pond. Plus, they will nest at most any depth. IF it is the T that are stirring things up too much, you can put flat rocks, or even 1 sqft ceramic tile in the pond for some flat, hard areas as nesting sites to help reduce the digging.

Cast netting might help a lot, if you get the dominant males.

Il try that, I still need to remove some koi too, Plus I have a decent amount of CNBG nesting too now so that all adds up.
