I would appreciate more information on zooplankton. I have read lots of information but I can not researearch it. How do I develope this for better fish growth. I realize this is an old topic but I am very old also---thanks.

deaner - Zooplankton are always present in your pond water unless you use full pond doses of copper sulfate several times a year. The copper sulfate cloud kills most all zooplankton that it comes in contact with.
Zooplankton that you do have in your pond increase and decrease their densities based on their food sources and water temperatures. Fertile water (more greenish) produces more food for zooplankton so they mulitply and increase in numbers.
Typicaly zooplankton densites start getting more abundant as water temps go above 55F-60F. And densities decrease with the onset of winter.
Look for an article in Pond Boss magazine in a few months about zooplankton in ponds.
