Hey Guys,
I have my pond cleared up and am wanting to try HSB in my pond. Has anyone found any fisheries in Oklahoma that carry HSB. Closest I can find is Overton down in Texas.
Thanks for your help

Hey Camo,
There is one over here just past North Little Rock. It's called Keo's fish farm. I have gotten HSB from there before and they were real nice. Good folks too. They have feed trained and non feed trained HSB. That's all they deal with is HSB so they know what they are doing. I think at the time I got 22 fish for like 36 bucks. They were like 6 to 8 inches I believe. Still not very close to you but it's the only one I know of.
Keo's Fish Farm I am sure you can google it.

thanks for the information guys.... Camo, make sure to stock 8 -10 inch HSB if you have adult LMB or you will see a feeding frenzy like no other. Expensive fish food - ask me how I know .. ..yeah I fed my LMB a happy meal by stocking 6 inch HSB...many years ago - expensive lesson. George

Thank you for the information George. Currently I have a few CC should I be worried about a feeding frenzy? Also what brand of feed do you guys feed your hsb?

Thank you for the information George. Currently I have a few CC should I be worried about a feeding frenzy? Also what brand of feed do you guys feed your hsb? Camo, it's adult LMB I would worry about. We fed Purina Aquamax for years with excellent results. When Purina "farmed out" production a couple of years ago with with inferior product and poor dealer service we switched to Cargill fish food and happy with their product. G/

Made the trip to Keo Arkansas yesterday, 8 hours round trip but now have 60 8-10 inch HSB swimming happily in the pond. I saw in the archives a link about winter feeding but for some reason it wouldn't load for me. What water temperatures should I stop feeding the HSB? also I picked up a couple bags of aquamax 400, will this feed work okay for my new friends?
Thanks Cameron

I feed the am400 to 4" BG because their mouths are so small. IMO,the HSB in that size would like bigger food, like the AM600. I suspect they'll eat the 400 but you'd getter better results with larger food.

Finally saw a feeding tonight! Any idea if I should leave the feeder on all winter?

Camo 15ok, I plan on running my feeder until the fish stop busting the water around it, after it goes off. If you are nearby to monitor the feedings frequently...that should be easy to do.
...when in doubt...set the hook...
