I am anew pondmeister for our 2 year old, 3.5 acre farmpond. I work at a greenhouse so I have access to test equipment for ph and alkalinity. My questions would be: Where to test? When? Depth? etc. Where can I find some direction on water testing and simple interpretation? Our pond is surrounded by clay hills and we are able to fill it from 1 acre dugout that continually refills with ground water. Our water should be fine,I just want to establish a baseline for the future.

Test the same place, same time of day, quarterly. Look at pH and alkalinity. Those are the "biggies."
