First of all, in 16 years this is the first leach I have seen in my pond. The leach was on the turtle shell. I pulled it off and couldn't see any damage. Can a leach actually penetrate a turtle shell?

I've seen them on the skin of both Softshells and Snappers tho.

Nows a good time too find them on turtles fresh out of the muck for another season.. There very common on snappers skin since they like to hang in the mucky nasty areas that leaches like the most..
I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease.. BG. CSBG. LMB. HSB. RES.
