I have a new pond (2 mo old) that is approx 1/4 acre. What is the best algee treatment? I tried some that I found at Tractor Supply and it didn't help a bit.

To help you there are some unknowns or background information that is needed for anyone to help you.
1. What specifically did you use, brand name or type of product 2. Did you follow specifically the instructions 3. How was it applied 4. What type of algae did you have? what did it look like? How much of it did you have and how thick was it? 5. What do you think caused it to grow? What are pond conditions like? If you simply kill most of it thats there, what will keep it from returning in a few weeks?
Most all pondowners "combat" algae of some degree most all the time. There is no "magic cure" to permanently rid a pond of algae. This sounds crazy but, certain algae are fertilized to keep other algae and weeds from growing. True.
