Nice job ODL, that's surely an improvement.....I still like the rip-rap around the pond, very clean and cuts down on the weed eating.....

Not sure?..The well is a Franklin electric 3 hp in a 6.5 in case...Was guessing it to be about 35 to 40 from reading info on the web, but it raised the pond 2" in 6 hours...That would put it at about 75 GPM being my pond is right at a half acre...
Was pleasantly surprised when I fire it up and say the flow coming out of it..
JKB, the system that I use is not what it appears to be. The blue lay flat hose ends about 12" inside the white PVC. The White PVC acts like a vortex, and O2 is mixed with the well water inside the pipe. I have basically 0 DO in the well water when checked as it comes out of the lay flat hose. By the time it's coming out of the PVC pipe, it's up to 8.50 mg/l.
One of the previous owners had a major fish kill after having the well installed in this pond... His wife wanted the pipe to be hidden so they put it at waters edge when the pond was low, then fired it up.... Woke up to fish floating everywhere...
I know several things have changed on this pond since, but what the heck, I have $3 in it and it was fun teaching the boys what we were doing..
Have you seen any fish hanging out in the area of the inflow? One summer as a biologist aid intern on a reservoir, we came upon an area with the shocker boat, in an inflow coming from a gravel pit that was being pumped. We shocked a lot of fish at that spot.

That is the area I feed so there are always fish hanging out in that area... Was hard to see what was going on in the water with all the bubble and disturbance...
I did throw some feed out when the well was running... The fish came to it with no problems...

Didn't notice the white PVC. That's all gravity, or minor pressure thru the blue to the PVC, then it sucks some air toward the end? Makes sense. What do you think the retention time is when the water hit's the PVC?
Unless your well water is heavily laden with the 3 that Cecil mentioned, Hydrogen Sulfide being icky, and CO2 being a prick, It's always a safe bet to blow off some gas. Well water will pick up some DO as soon as it is out of the ground. Blowing gas off makes this happen faster.
Minor pressure thru the blue to the white, where it's gravity from there as it's open on both ends. I have a 2" ball valve partially choked off at the bladder tank so I retain enough pressure to have water in the house, but below the threshold for the pressure switch to turn the well pump off. Pressure switch is 40/60.
Water from the well pump is (IIRC) 1 1/2" pipe from the pump to the bladder tank, then down to 1" to the house. From the bladder tank to the pond I keep it at 1 1/2" until it exits the pump house, then up to 2" thru the ball valve and then up to 3" PVC. Then it transitions to 50' fo 3" lay flat hose thru the dog kennel, then to 2" lay flat hose to within 20' of the pond. That's where it hits the 3" open ended PVC to the pond. Total distance from pond to pump house is approximately 300'.
